The Rock Razor and Magic Marry will be added to Schwalbe's already impressive line of tires and will be available in several sizes, compounds and sidewall options. Along with the two new treads Schwalbe expanded their gravity options by bringing more tires into their lightweight Super Gravity family. These tires offer a great mix between weight savings and DH durability. FOr more info on the Super Gravity technology visit schwalbe.com
We've been riding these new tires all week in Scotland and are super impressed with their all around performance and ability to adapt to various terrain.
The Rock Razor will be an awesome enduro or fast rolling DH tire for hard pack or loamy tracks due to the awesome rubber while the aggressive and thick outer blocks allow you to really dig in more than a traditional semi-slick tire would.
Up front the Magic Mary has been pointing us down the trail with siped and ramped center knobs while the outer blocks are supported to reduce rollover. The V-grooves have varying depths for additional bite on the edges while the open groove lets the tire clear itself nicely, even in the Scottish mud bogs.
We've been running the tires in the Super Gravity carcass and Vert Star compound with about 20psi all week and haven't had a single flat and wear looks to be even and sustainable. The Super Gravity carcass has allowed us to run scary-low tire pressures but reap the benefits of a tire that conforms to the terrain below us. It took some getting used to, but we're impressed.
These tires should be available around the first of August and we'll keep you up-to-date on their performance.
